Alison Breitbarth
President and Co-Founder
Alison is the mother of two boys, Connor and Grant. Grant's Pompe diagnosis is what inspired Grant's Giants Nonprofit. Alison is passionate about raising awareness for newborn screening and Pompe disease and is very involved in the Pompe community. She is a Newborn Screening Ambassador and serves as the parent representative for the state of Indiana for the Unite Newborn Screening Learning Community. She has shared Grant's story as a guest on the Upon a Gene podcast, at SparkX (hosted by Spark Therapeutics), at the Pediatric Pompe Conference at Duke, at the Lysosomal Storage Disorders meeting in Texas, and on several local Indianapolis news stations. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Butler University.
Emma Law-Oppman
Vice President and Co-Founder
Emma is an intellectual property attorney and is currently focusing her time on her family and volunteer roles in the community. She serves on the board of Congregation Beth El Zedeck, the Jewish Federation and Heartland Film Festival's Cinemania Gala committee. Alison and Emma have been friends for nearly two decades after being roommates freshman year at Butler University. Emma received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Butler University and her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.
Whitney Dawson
Board Member
Whitney is a Director of Development at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Her role focuses on fundraising for pediatric research to discover new treatment and therapies for rare disease. She has been best friends with Alison since they met in 4th grade at St. Richard’s School in Indianapolis. Whitney received her Bachelor of Arts degree in French & European History from Vanderbilt University.
Michael Haughney
Board Member
Michael is a Product Performance Manager at Caterpillar. His role focuses on technical sales, machine performance, and site optimization to maximize customer's equipment potential. He is Grant's uncle and has known the Breitbarth family for over 30 years. Michael received his bachelors of science in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Jacob Jewell
Board Member
Jacob is a Financial Advisor with Principal in Indianapolis. He works with Dentists and individuals on their personal and business financial planning. Jacob has become a close friend of Nolan and Alison Breitbarth, since Nolan and Jacob began working together in 2017. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from Ball State University.
Kristin Myers-Lagoy
Board Member
Kristen is originally from Kentucky and is a University of Louisville alumnus. She moved to Indiana and became the Office Manager for the Indianapolis Principal Financial Office. This is where she met Nolan and throughout the years has gotten to know Alison and their sweet boys, Connor and Grant. She is a proud wife, mother and aunt. When she is not playing Uber driver to different children’s events, practices and games for her daughter, nieces and nephews, she is a dedicated member of Grant’s Giants. She hopes that the awareness raised through Grant’s Giants helps to improve the lives of many children and families.
Ashley Morelock Reuter
Board Member
Ashley is a Registered Nurse at Riley Hospital for Children. She specializes in hematology and oncology, and currently works in the outpatient infusion center at the Riley Outpatient Center. She met the Breitbarths at Grant's very first infusion when he was only a few weeks old. She and Alison quickly bonded over their similar fertility journey and unique similarities. Ashley quickly fell in love with Grant, and she has loved being a part of his and his family’s story. When Ashley isn’t working at Riley, she is teaching at University of Indianapolis, helping to educate future generations of nurses. She has a Bachelor of Science and Nursing from Marian University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University.
